A visit to the museum engages all the senses, combining sound and historical documentation with new technologies and multimedia. Our guided tours are carefully designed to cater to the needs of different audiences, including adults, families, thematic tours by museum experts, visitors aged 65+, and other groups. See more details below.

Thematic Tours

Maria Callas: Idol & Legend

Maria Callas was one of the most significant voices in 20th-century opera, marking a new era through her unparalleled dramatic artistry.

Throughout her life, she was a living icon—an aspect that both fueled her career and confined her within the myth of perfection.

During this guided tour, we explore the multiple dimensions of what it means to be an idol and uncover why this label followed Maria Callas even after her passing.

Through fascinating stories, we navigate the museum’s exhibition space, delving into media portrayals of Callas over time. By comparing her constructed public image with her true self, we gain deeper insight into the human side of the great soprano.
